Never put through a shredder papers with adhesive or sticky substances such as envelope gum and labels.
Make sure to keep the wastebasket empty. For a shredder to work efficiently, the shredded paper needs to be able to drop freely into the wastebasket below.
Many manufacturers recommend lubricating your shredder twice a month, using special shredder lubricant.
