Make sure that you clean the filters or your projector regularly. Many projectors will alert you to do so based upon usage hours. However, if your projector is in a dusty environment, you may want to clean the filters more often.
If you want your projector to project sound also, look out for the speaker wattage - a projector's speaker can range from 1 watt to 10 watts.
A zoom lens allows you to adjust the image size without moving the projector. Look for a projector with a higher zoom if you wish to be able to present an image that will fit any screen size.
