Look out for the projector's picture settings - does it offer multiple surface settings so the image can be projected on different surfaces such as blackboard, whiteboard or concrete wall?
Try to allow your projector time to cool down. When the projector is running, the bulb produces heat which needs time to dissipate so the filament and the rest of the device can stabilize. Moving a projector when the filament is hot can cause damage.
Make sure that you clean the filters or your projector regularly. Many projectors will alert you to do so based upon usage hours. However, if your projector is in a dusty environment, you may want to clean the filters more often.
