The Dahle 40606 has a 16" feed opening to easily accommodate letter, legal and wide computer paper. It has a maximum sheet capacity of 36/40 sheets at a time and features a large capacity waste bin capable of holding 45 gallons of shredded material.

If you're purchasing a very large shredder, the lid and shred mechanism may be heavy or cumbersome, so look for a side-loading or slide-out basket rather than a unit where you have to lift the top off to empty it.
Many shredders can cut through staples and paper clips, however, it is advisable to remove them first since metal dulls the shredder's blades, and if the shredder needs repairing, documents in need of shredding accumulate and become a potential security risk.
Some shredders can accommodate credit cards and CDs, but use cation when feeding in these items.
