Make sure to keep the wastebasket empty. For a shredder to work efficiently, the shredded paper needs to be able to drop freely into the wastebasket below.
By shredding your documents you can ensure that your plans, ideas and other information don't fall into the wrong hands, such as a competitor.
If you intend to have your shredder on the floor, look for one with a simple vertical mouth that will be best for feeding the paper in. If you plan to place the shredder on your desk, an angled mouth is better.
